PRIVASIA Technology Bhd (KL:PRIVA) has been named a top performer in the ACE Market category at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards for the second year running, a recognition that the technology and satellite services company says reflects its efforts to turn its ESG commitments into measurable outcomes.
Executive Deputy Chairman Datuk Puvanesan Subenthiran says the consecutive wins are particularly significant, as PRIVASIA has been working to improve the quality of its disclosures, carbon accounting, governance and operational practices.
“Our consecutive recognition at The Edge Malaysia ESG Awards gives us confidence that the foundations we have built are creating meaningful progress, particularly in the quality of our disclosures, carbon accounting, governance and operational practices,” he says. Over the past few years, the company has strengthened its ESG foundations by improving disclosures and the quality of its carbon data, while continuing to invest in its workforce.

This year, the company has built on those efforts with more rigorous emissions accounting and a greater focus on using the data it collects to guide action. Since 2021, paper consumption has fallen 52.9%, while electricity consumption has decreased 33.5% and associated emissions have continued to decline.
“Meaningful ESG progress is not just about having the right intentions. It is about having better data, making better decisions and delivering measurable change. That shift, driven collectively by our people, is turning sustainability from an aspiration into an increasingly integral part of how PRIVASIA operates and creates value,” says Datuk Puvanesan.
One of the challenges has been turning better data into better business decisions, particularly as PRIVASIA grows and measuring its environmental impact becomes more complex. “We responded by strengthening our emissions methodologies, improving data quality and using our findings to identify practical opportunities for reduction. This contributed to measurable progress in areas such as paper and electricity consumption, while maintaining the operational responsiveness our clients depend on,” he says.
For PRIVASIA, the aim is now to make ESG part of its day-to-day operations rather than treat it as a separate agenda. “We do not want ESG reporting to be something we are recognised for once a year. We aim for it to become part of the standard by which we run PRIVASIA every day. For us, the award is a marker of progress, but also a reminder of the responsibility that comes with it.” PRIVASIA plans to continue improving resource efficiency, energy management.
