Datuk Puvanesan Subenthiran Awarded Maritime Technopreneur of the Year at MARPORTS Global Excellence Awards 2026

Datuk Puvanesan Subenthiran, Executive Deputy Chairman and Group Managing Director of PRIVASIA Technology Berhad, has been awarded Maritime Technopreneur of the Year at the MARPORTS Global Excellence Awards 2026, held on 24 April 2026 at Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

The award recognises Datuk Puvanesan’s leadership in maritime digital transformation, smart port innovation, and technology-driven maritime ecosystem development. Under his stewardship, PRIVASIA has advanced the adoption of digital platforms, automation, AI-driven systems, and data-enabled operational technologies that improve efficiency, transparency, compliance, and collaboration across the maritime and logistics value chain.

The MARPORTS Global Conference & Excellence Awards 2026 convened global maritime leaders, shipping operators, port authorities, policymakers, and technology innovators to explore the future of sustainable shipping, smart ports, maritime infrastructure, and digital transformation.

The conference was officially inaugurated by Mr. Shyam Jagannathan, IAS, Director General of Shipping & Additional Secretary to the Government of India, who attended as Chief Guest. He was joined by distinguished maritime leaders and senior industry stakeholders from across the global maritime ecosystem. The event also featured participation from leading organisations including Boskalis, AP Moller – Maersk, DNV, IR Class, MSC, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd., Cochin Shipyard Ltd., Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, ET Infra, Synergy Marine Group, Torm Shipping, BSM Cruise Services, SEDS, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Portall Infosystems, Sanmar Shipping Ltd., Chowgule & Company Pvt. Ltd., Docker Vision, UL Technology Solutions, Lloyd’s Register, IIT Madras, Port of Rotterdam Authority, and HSA Advocates.

The awards ceremony recognised excellence across the global maritime and port sector. Key winners included Adani Ports & SEZ as Port Developer of the Year, Shipping Corporation of India as Shipowner of the Year, PSA India as Global Container Terminal Operator, Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd. as Emerging Port of the Year and Docker Vision as Emerging Maritime AI Start-up.

Datuk Puvanesan was recognised by the MARPORTS Global jury for his ability to combine entrepreneurial foresight with deep technological expertise, driving scalable digital solutions that address key industry challenges such as logistics optimisation, compliance, and maritime collaboration. His contributions continue to support the evolution of a more connected, resilient, and innovation-led maritime industry.
